Umm as-Surab. Heritage Days in Jordan

In the Framework of the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018 and of the Heritage Days in Jordan, the Archaeological Mission in Umm as-Surab, with the support of EUNIC Jordan and with the collaboration of the IFPO Amman, the Department of Antiquities of Jordan and the Municipality of Umm as-Surab, organizes an open-day at the archaeological site on the 11th of October 2018.

This day aims to strengthen the collaborations between the European institutions and the Jordanian ones and, at the same time, to involve the local population to the knowledge and the protection of a unique cultural heritage, i.e. the ancient villages built in basalt of the Jordanian Southern Hawran.

At 11:00 visit on the site and archaeological laboratories with students of the local schools.

At 15:00 the archaeologists of the mission will present the on-going project in the ancient village with the collaboration of the Yarmouk University and the Department of Antiquities of Jordan.

At 15:30 is organized a tour on the site.
