Seminario de Arqueología y Arquitectura Medieval, Escuela de Estudios Árabes (CSIC), Granada

On the 22th of February, 7 pm, at the Escuela de Estudios Árabes (CSIC) in Granada will be held the “Seminario de Arqueología y Arquitectura Medieval” organized by Antonio Almagro and Mª Ángeles Utrero.

In the first part Angelo Castrorao Barba will talk about: “Archeologia medievale degli insediamenti rurali nella Sicilia centro-occidentale: quadro generale e nuovi dati dallo scavo di Contrada Castro (Corleone, Palermo)”.

In the second one, Piero Gilento will present a contribution titled: “Asentamientos antiguos y técnicas constructivas entre época bizantina e islámica en el norte de Jordania” (Ancient settlements and building techniques between byzantine and islamic time in northern Jordan).

On this occasion Piero Gilento will present the ACTECH project, the preliminary results of the fieldwork carried out in Jordan in October 2017 and the work in progress at the Escuela de Estudios Arabes, in the framework of the Secondment under the supervision of Antonio Almagro.

The seminario will be held at the Salón de Actos of the Escuela de Estudios Árabes (CSIC), Cuesta del Chapiz 22, Granada.
